Welcome to Fourth Grade

“He who forgets himself in the service of God may be assured that God will not forget him.”
-Saint Ignatius of Loyola

Dear Fourth Grade Families,
My name is Angie Willburn and I will be your child’s teacher this school year. This is my first year teaching at Saint Mary, Star of the Sea School and I am very excited to be a member of this wonderful school family.

I am a graduate of the University of North Carolina, Wilmington and hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. I have also earned my M.Ed. in Administration and Supervision from Marymount University. This will be my ninth year teaching and I have had the pleasure of teaching first, second, fourth and fifth grades at Infant of Prague Catholic School in Jacksonville, North Carolina. I was also blessed to teach fourth grade at Saint Joseph Academy in San Marcos, California for the past two years. I am very excited to experience fourth grade with your child. I know that we will have a fabulous year.

The United States Navy brought my family to the area two years ago. This is our second time being stationed in the area and we feel blessed to be back, as we call California “home.” I have been married to my husband, Ken, for twenty-seven years and we have two beautiful children.

Thank you for trusting me as a partner in the education of your child. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns about your child’s learning experience. I know that working together we can make this year a very special one for your child. I will do my best to create an environment within our classroom where your child will be able to “forget himself in the service of God.” I will strive to make this school year the best it can be.

Yours in Christ,
Angie Willburn
